Government Covid Relief Programs

Taiwan’s central government has made available Covid Relief Programs for many businesses

As COVID 19 started to spread in Taiwan, naturally there is a significant impact on the country's economy. Aiming at alleviate the impacts of the pandemic to the country's business economy, the Taiwan government has made available covid relief programs

Program 1: Deferral of payroll taxes for 6 months interest free
  Eligibility: All companies (Taiwanese company or branch of a foreign company, no rep office)
 
Program 2: Subsidy/Grants
The relief funds are being managed by 4 agencies:
 
1. Education 教育部
2. Business Services (MOEA) 商業服務類
3. Technology Services: 技術服務業
4. Events: 展覽服務業

Eligibility:  Taiwanese company or branch of a foreign company, no rep office
Application: Open (Started June 7, 2021)
Deadline: Earlier of Aug 31, 2021 or until the funding runs out
 
Eligibility for aid:
 - Will vary depending on industry

Aid:
 - A subsidy to the employer for each Taiwan national employee still on payroll, amount will vary depending on industry

**By our estimates, it works out to a potential subsidy of NTD 40k per employee in the Business Services’ category, the largest category of the four industries targeted for aid
